Silas is a partner and CEO of Mar Vista Investment Partners and has 35 years of investment experience. He serves as a portfolio manager/analyst and is a member of the investment team. Before starting Mar Vista in 2007, Silas spent seven years as a portfolio manager and analyst at Roxbury Capital Management. He was also an equity analyst and product specialist at Hotchkis and Wiley, where he performed in-depth industry and company analysis. He began his career as a vice president and portfolio manager at Utendahl Capital Management. He has a B.A. in psychology and an M.B.A., both from Harvard University. He is also a Robert A. Toigo Foundation Alumnus.

Robert is a partner and serves as Chief Operating Officer for Mar Vista. He joined the firm in 2009 and has an extensive background in technology with over 31 years of experience. Robert is based in our Minnesota office where he oversees the Firm’s operations including trading, finance, technology, and portfolio accounting.
Prior to joining Mar Vista, Robert worked for Metro Machine and Engineering, a company specializing in the medical device manufacturing industry. He spent nearly 10 years as one of their key people responsible for managing technology. Robert began his career at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked with the engineering team responsible for the software used to control the flight displays on the Boeing 747-400.
Robert has a B.S. in management and network administration from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota and an M.B.A. from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Brian is a partner and President of Mar Vista Investment Partners and has 34 years of investment experience. He serves as a portfolio manager/analyst and is a member of the investment team. Prior to starting Mar Vista in 2007, Brian spent 10 years as both a portfolio manager and analyst, and was Director of Research at Roxbury Capital Management. Before coming to Roxbury, Brian was a management consultant in KPMG Peat Marwick’s Corporate Finance and Strategic Consulting group. He has a B.S. in economics from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from The Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Josh is a partner and has 25 years of investment experience. He serves as a portfolio manager/analyst and is a member of the investment team. Before joining Mar Vista Investment Partners in January 2009, he spent seven years as an analyst at Roxbury Capital Management with a special emphasis in covering consumer discretionary and retail stocks. Josh was also an analyst with Harvey & Company, covering mergers and acquisitions and an associate in forensic accounting at Tucker Alan. He has a B.S. with distinction in management/finance from Purdue University.

Geoff is a member of Mar Vista’s trading department and works closely with the head trader on all of Mar Vista’s investment strategies. Geoff has more than 32 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, he spent nearly nine years as an institutional equity trader at Piper Jaffray. He has a B.S. in management from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
